I live in Mumbai. I keep hearing the sound of this bird which I'm unable to see. Its sound is like that of the whistle from the movie " Achanak " (someone calling out to the nurse played by Farida Jalal). I also read that some birds imitate other birds' calls. Even as I type this I can hear it in the distance. It chirps throughout the day intermittently. Please let me know the name.

astonished to find plenty of sparrows in the heart of mount road inside old wellington theatre (which is now a shopping complex)on a tree known as "Eecha maram" in tamil. Such was the beauty of the chripping of these sparrow in the middle of the traffic chaos, where you could not even find any residential colony or any grocery shop. Aamazed to notice and wondering where these birds will find their feed amidst this concrete jungle.

Thank you for sharing your wonderfully detailed images of birds. I will be visiting India soon (just two weeks away) and I am trying to learn as many birds as I can before I arrive. Your images helped me learn them. Even though the field guides I have are full of gorgeous paintings, the colors of the real birds are amazing! I'm looking forward to seeing many of these beautiful creatures.

First of all I thank you for these photos which you snapped and shared with us.I am very much delighted by these photos and sound of birds which you have provided. This brings a great love for nature.Sir I am also enthusiastic to watch birds and I watch also everyday morning.I am so influenced with this site that I hadn't celebrated Diwali by using firecrackers!Because now I know that nature is innocent and we should disturb it.Thank you sir!And one more thing! I am in search of one bird I watch that bird every morning and hear the sound but don't know its name for clue- It looks like Koel have bluish-grey body and when wings are spread have white colors like myna.I love that bird! but want some information about it .Hope so that you will get that bird on this site early!!
Regards.
